No matter what type of wax burner you may have, an oil burner with tealights, an electric burner/warmer, glass or ceramic, it is important that you clean it properly in between burning new Wax Melts. Here are some handy tips to help you on your way.
Removing the Wax involves heating your oil burner slightly, but only enough to soften the edges and the bottom of the wax. After about a minute the wax will loosen enough to enable you to remove it from your burner.
An alternative method is to allow the wax to melt completely and then use cotton wool to soak up the residue.
Use a cloth or kitchen towel to clean the dish of the burner, so as not to damage your oil burner, as ceramic burners can mark easily.
Starting with a cool but slightly warm oil burner, empty any remaining wax or oil from the top of the burner, and wipe the dish clean. Please take care not to allow any residual oil to touch your skin.
If you opt to use a damp cloth to clean your burner after the wax has been removed, please ensure that any residual moisture has been removed from the surface of your burner, before adding a fresh wax melt, as this can contaminate your wax melt causing it to bubble and spit.
